Happy Tortoise Habitat
Handmade tortoise habitats, built in Hull
Happy Tortoise Habitat specialises in handmade wooden tortoise tables, habitats, outdoor runs and accessories for tortoise keepers across the UK.
Our website has been helping tortoise owners find practical, attractive housing for their pets for many years, but behind the online shop is something much more traditional: real timber, real tools and tortoise tables individually made in our Hull workshop.
About Happy Tortoise Habitat
Happy Tortoise Habitat is based at Lake Enterprise Park in Hull, where our wooden tortoise tables and habitats are made by hand.
Over the years the range has grown from straightforward tortoise tables into a much wider choice of designs, sizes and configurations. The shop now includes tortoise tables, outdoor runs, accessories and starter equipment alongside other products for tortoise keepers.
Although the designs have evolved, the basic idea has remained the same: provide tortoise owners with practical housing built specifically with tortoises in mind rather than asking them to adapt a generic pet enclosure.
That hands-on approach is an important part of Happy Tortoise Habitat. The photographs throughout this page are not catalogue mock-ups. They show real tortoise tables, different designs we have produced, completed habitats and examples sent to us by customers over many years.
Made by hand, not pulled from a warehouse shelf
Our gallery records just some of the different tortoise tables, habitats and customer setups produced over the years.
A long history of tortoise tables and habitats
From compact hatchling tables to larger habitats and tables made with additional features, these photographs show just some of the work that has passed through the workshop.
Tortoise tables made for real homes
No two homes are quite the same, which is one reason our tortoise-table range has developed into so many different shapes, sizes and styles.
Some customers need a compact habitat. Others have space for a much larger table, want an integrated stand or need additional features such as a mesh lid. Our shop therefore includes a range of designs rather than trying to make one enclosure suit every tortoise keeper.
You can browse the current range online, compare the available designs and see the options offered with each model. Because products and available options can change, the individual product pages are always the best place to check the latest specification and price.
Made in Hull
Our wooden tortoise tables are built by ourselves to our own designs in house from our workshop in Hull, UK. This makes us very flexible in our ability to create bespoke designs for our wonderful customers.
A wide choice of habitats
The range includes different sizes and designs, from smaller tables and hatchling housing through to larger habitats and models with additional features.
Years of customer experience
Happy Tortoise Habitat has been selling online for many years, building up a substantial collection of customer photographs and genuine product reviews along the way.
Built around a simple idea
Happy Tortoise Habitat began with a simple aim: to make good-quality wooden housing specifically for tortoises and make it easy for owners to buy it online.
Years later, that remains at the heart of the business. The website and product range have changed considerably, but the tortoise tables are still physical products made in a real workshop rather than anonymous stock arriving from a distant warehouse.
We think the photographs on this page tell that story better than polished advertising ever could. Different tables, different homes and different tortoises, all part of the history of Happy Tortoise Habitat.
